Kindermusik Group Lessons by Ms. Kristine
We offer four levels of Kindermusik group classes for young children: Foundation (Baby Music Class), Level 1 (Young Toddler Music Class), Level 2 (Toddler Music Class), and Level 3 (Preschool Music Class). Class descriptions are listed below. Ms. Kristine is Kindermusik International certified and trained to work with young children to help them develop musical skills by playing games and movement activities. It’s a fun and educational experience for your children. Classes are taught in Mandarin by Ms. Kristine. Below is our class schedule. Foundation: Baby Music Class
(Ages 0-1) Time: 45 min
Kindermusik Foundations, for children newborn to walking, incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. Our Foundations classes offer a sensory-rich yet caring and gentle environment where babies can explore and react to new sounds, sensations, objects, and movements. Classes include instrument play, scarves, dancing, singing, rocking, massage, exercise, drumming and SO much more!
ACTIVITIES
· Listening to and experiencing songs and rhymes
· Back-and-forth vocal plays and other parent-child interactions that build
neural pathways in a baby’s developing brain
· Exploring baby-safe instruments and other object play
· Baby-caregiver bonding exercises, including story time, massage, and
relaxation activities

LEVEL 1: Young Toddler Music Class
(Ages 1-2) Time: 45 min
Kindermusik Level 1: The perfect music class for your new walker!
Get ready to sing, play, and move with your little one in this high-energy music class designed to be just right for very young children. This new Kindermusik curriculum focuses on your child’s beginning movement, helping to build the muscles your young toddler needs to walk, run, and climb; and on vocal development, helping to nurture your child’s speaking and singing voice. With a mix of both parent-child joint activities and child-focused activities, you’ll be able to join right in on all the singing and dancing while also getting the chance to observe how your young toddler learns on his or her own. Embark on Kindermusik’s fun new exploration of singing, swaying, laughing, and playing through Level 1, a just-right mix of early-childhood vocal play and language development, together time, and music and movement activities! Classes include instrument play, scarves, dancing, singing, rocking, massage, exercise, drumming and SO much more!
ACTIVITIES
· Discovery and play with scarves, hoops, mirrors, and more
· Instrument play and introduction to basic music concepts such as high/low, fast/slow, and holding a steady beat
· Singing songs that include motions, repeated words, and different meters and modes

· Development of various basic gross-motor skills, fine-motor control, and coordination
· Growing ability to recognize and follow patterns in music and move to a steady beat, fundamental skills that have been linked to math and language
LEVEL 2: Toddler Music Class
(Ages 2-3.5) Time: 45 min
Kindermusik Level 2 is designed for children 2 years to 3.5 years of age, along with an accompanying parent or caregiver. Children and caregivers meet weekly for a 45-minute class. Level 2 classes encourage older toddlers to initiate their own ideas, nurturing social-emotional growth and cognitive development in a playful, exploratory environment. Playing instruments, singing, moving, and exploring uncover an engaging musical world while building the toddlers’ confidence, self-control, and communications skills. For the toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world. Despite a display of independence, the toddler child still longs for the safety and security of parental closeness. During this time, toddlers still relish the comfort of the familiar while also seeking the challenge of something new.
Kindermusik Level 2 encourages children to be creative, to initiate their own ideas and to respond in their own ways, while the caregiver’s active participation gives the toddlers the security they need.
ACTIVITIES
· Exploring movement concepts and participating in musical interactions with objects and others
· Discovering different ways instruments can make sounds and experiencing a wide range of musical concepts
· Identifying and vocally imitating sounds and learning to describe them
· Learning to associate a picture with a sound
· Singing songs with language patterns that explore rhythm, speech sounds, syntax, and rhyme

· Stabilization of muscles necessary for healthy posture and overall balance
· Improved coordination and locomotor skills, fine motor skills, and finger and hand strength

LEVEL 3: Preschool Music Class
(Ages 3-5) Time: 45 min
Kindermusik Level 3 is designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic, and imaginative 3 to 5 year olds and encourages socialization, sharing, and participating in musical group activities. Level 3 classes are designed to engage preschoolers’ natural love of music and activate their imaginations, while developing their growing language and social-emotional skills. Parents and siblings are invited to participate in the last few minutes for Sharing Time of the 45-minute class.
ACTIVITIES
· Experiencing a variety of sounds and learning how sounds are produced by playing musical instruments, speaking or singing
· Playing instruments with an emphasis on steady beat, repeated rhythm patterns, graphic notation, and ensemble music
· Ensemble Development, an activity that builds the skills preschoolers need in order to create music within a group.
· Engaging in creative expression and language play, expressing feelings and ideas through movement and music.
· Pre-reading music and learning to interpret graphic notation symbols, a precursor to learning traditional music symbols

· Growing ability to detect patterns, nuances, and timbre in sounds, a critical skill for music and language development
